PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

A CHILDREN'S DENTIST MUST ALSO BE A GOOD EDUCATOR

Working with children is lovely but also demanding, because children in the dental chair are impatient and often very frightened. A children's dentist must therefore also be a good educator who gives the child enough time and attention, building a positive attitude toward looking after dental health later in life and making the “fear of the dentist” disappear.

WHAT SHOULD PARENTS KNOW?

– Taking care of baby teeth is extremely important for the later good health of permanent teeth.
– Taking your child to the dentist in good time can prevent oral diseases and anomalies.
– The child's first visit to the dentist should be planned as early as the age of one year, when the first baby teeth erupt, and the dentist will give you detailed instructions on preventive measures and dental hygiene.

PREVENTIVE PROCEDURES FOR CHILDREN'S DENTAL HEALTH

– Tooth fluoridation is a quick and painless preventive procedure in which baby or permanent teeth are coated with fluoride in the form of a solution, gel or varnish to prevent decay.
– Fissure sealing is a procedure to prevent decay from starting and developing on newly erupted teeth. Fissures are deeper or shallower grooves on the crown of the tooth and are particularly suitable places for decay to develop. The fissures are cleaned completely painlessly and without “grinding” the tooth and are sealed with a suitable dental material.
