Dental implants
When a patient is missing many teeth or has none, the All-On-4 or All-On-6 procedures are used: 4 or 6 implants are placed in the jaw, depending on the condition of the remaining jawbone, and a dental bridge with 10-12 teeth is then fitted on them.
When there is not enough bone for traditional implants, the technique of placing implants in the cheekbone is used – so-called zygomatic implants. This is a surgical technique performed by only a small number of clinics, and the “Nadaždin” clinic is especially proud of its results.
All teeth on four implants: All-on-4
ALL-ON-4 is a procedure in which a complete dental bridge with up to 10 teeth rests on four implants. This type of work is ideal for patients who are completely edentulous or partially edentulous, who have diseased gums, or whose teeth are neglected and cannot be used as abutments for bridges or other prosthetic work.
This method is ideal if you are not a candidate for classic vertical implants because your jawbone does not have the necessary thickness or density.
TIMELINE OF THE ALL-ON-4 PROCEDURE
– Four implants are placed in the upper or lower jaw where the bone is thickest and densest.
– A dental bridge with 8, 9 or 10 teeth is fitted within 24-48 hours of the day of surgery.
– Our patients receive two sets of ceramic teeth, the first right after the surgery and the second 4-6 months after the surgery.
– In addition to local anesthesia, which is mandatory, intravenous analgosedation can also be used at the patient's request, giving the patient a feeling of complete relaxation under constant supervision by an anesthesiologist.
All teeth on six implants: All-on-6
ALL-ON-6 is a method in which six implants carry a complete fixed restoration of up to 12 teeth. It eliminates the drawbacks of ALL-ON-4 and allows the force that loads the implants during chewing to be distributed better.
ALL-ON-6 adds one more implant on each side, which eliminates the titanium bar.
Zygomatic (cheekbone) implants
Zygomatic implants are a method used in patients who do not have enough bone thickness for conventional implants. After years of periodontal disease or years of tooth loss, bone resorbs, that is, becomes thinner, so that it no longer has the thickness needed to place implants. For that reason the implants are placed in the cheekbone, which is one of the hardest bones in the body.
ADVANTAGES OF ZYGOMATIC IMPLANTS:
– A fixed restoration of 14 teeth, that is, the complete upper jaw, can be placed.
– Two zygomatic implants are usually enough (less often four), which, combined with standard implants, form the basis for building the entire upper bridge.
– They are placed in a single procedure, and a fixed bridge can be fitted as early as 2-3 days after placement (unlike standard implants, where you have to wait 6-12 months).
– This technique can also solve cases where teeth were lost 2-3 decades ago, or teeth were lost after severe injuries or oncological treatments.
